Deployment Projects

We are down 1 month and 3 weeks but it has definitely felt longer.  That first month was filled with travel and what is known has the "numb phase". I felt fine but something was off. My team mate was missing. After a month Madelyn and I are getting into a routine and desperately trying to stay out of the rain clouds that plague my house every once in a while. Almost 2 months in and the realization of how long my husband will be gone is starting to set in. But my mother (my Army Wife hero) excitedly says "You're two months down!!" She is right of course. One day at a time is the general rule among my community of women.

**** Let me just take a minute to commend those women in my community. They amaze me. I look at them in church, the commissary, and my neighborhood and think "how do they do it?" Some of them actually look like they shower every day! It is a tough job to be an Army wife and a mom. I do not feel like I can put myself in that category of super women, but I certainly have enough to inspire and motivate me. I admire and respect them.******

I am starting to wake up a bit from my deployment haze. My pantry door is littered with lists among lists of projects I hope to accomplish while my man is away. Hello motivation! Mostly spurred by our most recent paycheck. Which, I can happily say, will be going towards paying off debt. Debt free, debt free, debt free will someday be a reality. But I've learned quickly how much discipline that will take. *Sigh* That Pottery Barn inspired living room will just have to wait. In the meantime I am working from the back to the front of our house. Redecorating, reorganizing, revamping will become my focus. I've decided we have WAY too much junk for only being married 4 years. Most of it clutters my closests and frustrates me to no end.  My goal is to buy quality items that will withstand many future moves. No more impulse buys! I have to train my self to research and really think through my purchases. Some people are naturals at making a room pop with class with out breaking the bank.  But when I do that it it looks stupid and I hate it a month later. Hopefully I can avoid that.

On to my Precious Joyful.  She is the happiest, busiest baby and I love her dearly.  This girl is going places! Literally from one end of the house to the other. She fills my days with so much laughter and joy. Even in sad moments she always brings a smile to my heart.  In a few months my baby will be a year and I am so proud of her.  People seem drawn to her smile and her sweet natured attitude. I hope that continues.  With two teeth and two more on the way. Boy do those give us trouble.  Crawling is her main mode of transportation but I've seen glimmers of what the months ahead hold me me.  Hayley bear has finally accepted the fact that this child is here to stay and greets her with kisses and smiles when she wakes up from naps.

I feel so blessed and praise God for each day.  He is the foundation of my strength. Praise be to God!
